general information

One of the important features of training at the SAIT department of students and postgraduates is the combination of study with scientific research, mostly of an applied nature. According to a number of indicators of scientific activity, the department occupies a leading position in VNTU, and according to some, it is also among the graduation departments of the IT profile of other institutions of higher education both in Ukraine and abroad. All scientific research is conducted within limits scientific school Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of the Academy of Mining Sciences of Ukraine (Kryvyi Rih), Academician of the Academy of Engineering Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, IEEE Senior Member (USA), Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Mokin B.I. "Mathematical modeling and system analysis of processes in complex systems of a technical, organizational and educational nature and the development of information technologies for monitoring and control systems of these processes and automatic and automated control systems". Main scientific directions of scientists of the department:

1. Mathematical modeling and system analysis of processes in complex systems of a technical, natural, organizational and educational nature and development of information technologies for monitoring and control systems of these processes and automatic and automated control systems.
2. System analysis, classification, forecasting of processes and search for cause-and-effect relationships using information technologies of machine learning in the field of medicine, ecology, aerobiology, energy, trade, politics, education, in the agricultural field, etc.
3. Construction and analysis of generative models of artificial intelligence.
4. Cognitive science and cognitive modeling.
5. Creation and improvement of intellectual technologies for processing natural language texts and technologies of computer linguistics.
6. Research, optimization and creation of renewable and transport energy systems and decision support systems for their optimal management.
7. Creation and optimization of automated control systems based on Internet of Things technologies, including of SigFox technologies.
8. Deciphering the data of remote sensing of the Earth.
9. Development of programs and geo-information and analytical systems for monitoring the state of the natural environment, decision support systems for its improvement and optimization of the water management balance of natural waters.

Research laboratories of department scientists and their work results

Research is conducted in 4th research laboratories, the scientific management of which is carried out by full-time professors of the department from the moment of their creation:

1. Artificial intelligence and cognitive science (AI) (research supervisor - O.B. Mokin, co-supervisor - V.B. Mokin);

2. Environmental Research and Environmental Monitoring (EDEM) (supervisor - V.B. Mokin);

3. Automated control systems in energy and transport (ASUET) (supervisor - B. I. Mokin);

4. On the problems of the higher school (PVSH) (research supervisor - B. I. Mokin, co-supervisor - V. B. Mokin).

Under the leadership of teachers of the department from among the researchers of these 4 research laboratories already prepared about 50 doctors of science, doctors of philosophy (PhD) and candidates of science, mainly in the field of information technologies in engineering, biology, ecology, economics, pedagogical activities, etc.

About 100 fundamental and applied researches were performed in these 4 NDL research works and projects for funding as state funds, and international, and enterprises and scientific institutions.

In particular, NDL EDEM is one of the leaders in Ukraine in terms of the number of completed multi-faceted applications farm contracting GDR in the field of creation of geo-information cadastres, information analytical systems, web portals, maps and atlases, the results of which are actually implemented in all regions of Ukraine. Many tenders have been won. Received about 50 certificates of copyright registration for computer programs. A number of developments related to the implementation of European directives and methods were implemented and found their reflected in the legislation of Ukraine. The hydrographic and water management zoning of Ukraine, developed at the NDL EDEM on the order of the State Water Resources Agency of Ukraine, was carried out in accordance with Ukraine's international obligations within the framework of the Association Agreement with the EU.

Developments of NDL ASUET won gold medals at international exhibitions of the World Association of Inventors (IFIA) with the center in Geneva. Many patents were obtained for these developments.

Scientists of NDL SHIK and NDL EDEM during 2022-2023 carry out the project on a subcontract with funding EU "Horizon" programs on neural network optimization of energy consumption of grain elevators.

A number of these NDL functions student scientific circles. The best works of students have repeatedly been the prize-winners of the final All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific papers.

A number of studies are conducted by topic international competitions based on the Kaggle platform. According to the number of grandmasters with the title "Kaggle Notebooks Grandmaster" among teachers and graduate students, the SAIT department ranks first among all higher education institutions in the world (the department has 2 grandmasters from the upper levels of the rating). This is a rating of developers of public programs in the field of Data Science, artificial intelligence and machine learning, many of which are the calculated part of professional articles (leading Scopus publications require the publication of calculation results and the reference to them in the article).

In general, scientists of the SAIT department have published more than 1,000 publications, including more than 200 professional articles, including Scopus/WoS publications in the first quartile and around 100 books: more than 45 monographs and about 55 textbooks and training aids.

Training of scientific personnel through postgraduate and doctoral studies

The department works as a graduate student from two accredited educational programs:

9 graduate students are being trained. 5 teachers have the right to supervise graduate students.

IS doctoral studies from specialty 126 "Information systems and technologies". One teacher has approved the topic of a doctoral dissertation, but currently no one is studying at the doctoral program.
