At the SAIT department, graduate students get ample opportunities to master competencies, learning outcomes, useful knowledge and skills, which, as a rule, ensure good further employment:
- interesting professionally oriented disciplines, the content of which is updated every year;
- possibility of choice disciplines of general scientific, language and pelagogical direction (see above - in the infographic), as well as - a special direction: "Technologies of natural language information processing" (taught by the AIIT department - recommended for graduate students of the AIIT department, but it is up to them), "Information technologies for monitoring and analyzing the state of complex systems” (taught by the SAIT department, as a rule, Mokin V.B. - recommended for postgraduate students of the SAIT department, but for them to decide), or "Models and methods of strategic management of transport systems development projects", or "Optimization of information systems" (taught by the KSU department - recommended for postgraduate students of the KSU department, but for them to decide);
- experienced teachers, who, as a rule, have practical experience of working in international IT companies in the subjects of their disciplines;
- possibility paid participation in scientific-research and scientific-practical projects department of international and/or domestic financing The acquired experience significantly improves the work on the dissertation and gives an opportunity to engage in truly innovative research. In addition, a similar sentence will look good in the dissertation and in the minutes of the seminar on the pre-defense of the dissertation: "He was the executor and co-author of the report on the results of scientific research for the funded project programs EU "Horizon 2020", where he systematized data from the IoT system of a grain elevator and developed a Python program to improve the artificial intelligence models necessary to optimize energy-saving modes of operation of this elevator";
- an individualized approach to the training of graduate students (in most disciplines, points are provided for various individual tasks and scientific research);
- graduate students can take participation in research at 4th research laboratories under the guidance of your supervisor and other teachers of the department, where you can test the acquired knowledge and skills on real tasks in a team with other teachers, graduate students, as well as with students, and based on the results of which you can write scientific articles and receive certificates of copyright registration for computer programs;
- the possibility of participation in international IT contests, ideatons, hackathons, including under the guidance of teachers of the department;
- free access to many programs, services and resources, obtained through partnerships and cooperation agreements with VNTU, which allow you to receive a higher quality education and provide an opportunity for self-development, for example, VNTU has benefits in the online course program Coursera, which allows you to master the special sections of individual disciplines for free (as a rule, the programs of the disciplines provide additional points for this or you can re-enroll part of the credits of the discipline based on the results of mastering the online course).
According to the Classifier of Professions DK 003:2010, graduates can carry out the following professional activities:
- researcher (system analysis);
- consultant (in the field of system analysis);
- system developer (except computers);
- teacher of a higher education institution;
- Researcher-consultant (information analytics).
A Doctor of Philosophy in specialty F6/126 can hold positions in companies, enterprises, design and research institutes in the technical and information sector, in the field of applied sciences and technology, in particular, computer science and technology, positions in departments and laboratories of scientific and educational institutions, and in specialized departments of higher education institutions.
In addition, powerful enterprises and IT companies seek to attract graduates of this educational program to their activities. Also, graduates have the necessary skills to create their own IT companies and products, provide services as independent self-employed contractors (freelancers, independent contractors), etc.
Typical positions graduates in IT companies:
- IT Manager (IT Manager: CEO, Engineering Manager, Team/Tech Leader, etc.): oversees the company's technology infrastructure and operations, including the management of hardware, software, networks, security and other key company processes. Team Leader takes charge of the team and ensures that everyone is working efficiently. Managers are also responsible for making technical decisions and selecting and applying technical standards.
- System Architect (System Architect): manages a team and implements the development and implementation of a software architecture that meets the company's business needs, taking into account technical risks, quality control and standards. An architect is responsible for designing the overall structure of a software system, including its components and how they interact with each other. They work closely with other developers and the customer to ensure that the system is scalable, secure and efficient.
- Data Scientist: a programmer responsible for developing and implementing algorithms and models to extract insights from data and solve complex business problems. They specialize in working with large data sets to gain insights and build predictive models. Able to work with a variety of tools and technologies, including machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis software, and big data platforms.
As well as various other positions of programmers, analysts, etc., which require less knowledge and experience.
Given the more fundamental knowledge of data analysis and the applied nature of training than average programmers and narrow-profile specialists of other educational programs, graduates of this program with a PhD degree have a better chance of getting a position team leader (Team Leader), project manager (Project Manager), experienced developer (Senior) etc. Of course, for this you still need to have significant experience in project implementation, and for international IT companies - fluency in English (or maybe not only English).
Graduates' rights to employment are not limited.
Also, graduates of this educational program can continue their training by obtaining the scientific degree of Doctor of Sciences. Or they can improve their qualifications at scientific institutions, institutions of higher education, at high-tech and/or science-intensive enterprises. Can participate in postdoctoral training programs.
All under the guidance of the scientists of the SAIT department already about 50 theses have been defended "Doctor of Science", "PhD" and "Candidate of Science" levels (currently equivalent to PhD).
Postgraduate students are provided with a dormitory.
A developed infrastructure has been created for various leisure activities and activities in sports clubs. For example, among the teachers of the department there is a champion of the Vinnytsia region in badminton and a candidate for master of sports in archery.
