VNTU is well-known in the world, where students from more than 70 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa and South America studied before the Russian invasion. VNTU is the only university in Ukraine that is a member of the International Federation of Associations of Inventors with its center in Geneva and has repeatedly won gold medals at invention exhibitions. It has repeatedly hosted the semi-finals of the World Programming Championship. VNTU has repeatedly implemented international projects of the TEMPUS-TASIC program (in the mid-90s, a master’s degree was created according to EU standards), in the mid-1990s, student self-government was improved, in recent years, 2 "Erasmus+" projects з удосконалення вищої ІТ-освіти за міжнародними стандартами. У 2022-2023 рр. кафедра САІТ ВНТУ виконує проєкт на субпідряді за фінансування ЄС «Horizon 2020» з нейромережевої оптимізації енергоспоживання зернових елеваторів. Завідувач і аспірант кафедри САІТ є серед лідерів рейтингу розробників програм на Python серед більше 30 млн. датасайнтистів світу на Google-платформі Kaggle і першим в Україні отримав звання Kaggle Notebooks Grandmaster. The Faculty of Intelligent Information Technologies and Automation of the National Technical University was established in 1974. She finished it during this time a large cohort of specialists. At the SAIT department, full-time studies are carried out in 2 bachelor's educational programs, one master's program and 2 "PhD" level programs for graduate students. There is a correspondence form of study for post-graduate students.
All teaching is in Ukrainian, but the PhD level educational program in specialty F6 (126) of the SAIT department also provides English-language teaching for foreign students.

The topics of the main professional disciplines of the department are available at page. Every year, new disciplines appear and the content of existing ones is updated, since the IT sphere is developing very dynamically.
Research is conducted in 4th research laboratories (NDL). About 100 fundamental and applied researches were carried out in these NDL research works and projects for funding as state funds, as well as international, and enterprises and scientific institutions. The results of these works are actually implemented in all regions of Ukraine and abroad. Not only teachers, but also students and graduate students participated in them for payment. A number of these NDL functions student scientific circles. The best works of students have repeatedly been the prize-winners of the final All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific papers.
Under the leadership of the teachers of the department already prepared about 50 doctors of science, doctors of philosophy (PhD) and candidates of science, mainly in the field of information technologies in engineering, biology, ecology, economics, pedagogical activities, etc. Received more than 50 certificates of copyright registration for computer programs.
A number of developments related to the implementation of European directives and methods were implemented and found their own reflected in the legislation of Ukraine. The hydrographic and water management zoning of Ukraine, developed at the NDL EDEM on the order of the State Water Agency, was carried out in accordance with Ukraine's international obligations within the framework of the Association Agreement with the EU.
The teachers' designs won gold medals at international exhibitions of the World Inventors Association (IFIA) with its center in Geneva. About 100 were received for such developments patents.
In general, scientists of the SAIT department have published more than 1,000 publications, including more than 200 professional articles and about 100 books: more than 45 monographs and about 55 textbooks and training aids.

In peacetime, the university had a stadium with running tracks with a recortan surface, an athletic arena, sports halls and playgrounds. The most popular sports at VNTU (sections): football, athletics, athletic gymnastics, sports games (basketball, handball, badminton, table tennis, etc.), archery, mountaineering, wrestling, chess and others - all sports are specially provided equipped playgrounds and sports equipment. Among the students of VNTU there are champions and prize winners of Europe and the world.
