Scientific director of the NDL SHIK Mokin O.B. together with his students (5 graduate students) has many years of experience in the field of medical data processing, image analysis, time series analysis and forecasting, etc. He is the first professor in Ukraine who received a gold medal at the competition Kaggle in the field of image analysis (the largest Google platform for data scientists in the world, with more than 13 million users). Has a title Kaggle Master.

Since 2022, scientists of the NDL SHIK are being carried out farm contract GDR "Development of information technologies to optimize grain elevator operation using neural network models and reinforcement learning methods" (2022-2023, scientific supervisor - Mokin V.B., the responsible executor is a teacher of the faculty. SITE Dratovanyi M.V.) on subcontracting INNOVINNPROM LLC, which performs EU-funded project within the Horizon 2020 program. The result of the R&D of VNTU is a subsystem for optimizing grain elevator energy saving using artificial intelligence technologies for processing information collected by the "SAKURA-ARM" system INNOVINNPROM LLC based on Internet of Things technologies. The system can be adapted to other similar productions with a multi-stage technological cycle. There are already a number of orders, as high-tech energy-saving systems of the "Industry 4.0" level are becoming more and more relevant.

Co-head of NDL Mokin V.B. has a title Kaggle Grandmaster and takes 1st place among datasitenists from Ukraine and is included in Top50 data scientists of the world in the nomination of developers of programs for the application of artificial intelligence technologies in various fields. For your Python notebook programs on Kaggle has more than 120 medals, including 20 gold. Conducts research with his students on intellectual data analysis, including from IoT systems, from machine learning with reinforcement, analysis and forecasting of time series, development and optimization of web systems using artificial intelligence technologies, from management of complex systems using cognitive models in the field of medicine, ecology, economy and trade, transport, energy etc.

Active are supported international contacts, including through the Kaggle platform. There is active cooperation with a number of foreign scientific institutions and organizations, primarily from the USA and Israel. 

In the field of cognitive science, there is long-term cooperation with leading scientists Institute of Applied System Analysis of NTUU "KPI". 

Modern directions of scientific research:

1. Construction and analysis of generative models of artificial intelligence (including based on generative competitive networks and diffusion models).
2. Synthesis of machine and deep learning models for problems in the medical field, including stomatology
3. Machine learning models for the study of factors affecting the efficiency of employees (emotional burnout, etc.).
4. Early diagnosis of diseases (including severe course of coronavirus).
5. Study of regularities and causal relationships in the field of medicine, ecology, trade, politics, education, etc.
6. Creation of intelligent solutions to optimize the technological process of the enterprise using reinforcement learning.

8. Smart technologies, including smart farming.
9. Time series forecasting.
10. Analysis and recognition of images and videos, computer vision.

In general, within the scope of the research of scientists of NDL SHIK from the day of creation of NDL in 2023 published: 2 articles in a journal from Scopus (quartile Q1), 4 articles in scientific specialized publications of Ukraine, 16 theses and materials of reports at scientific conferences (including abroad). In 2023, 9 bachelor's diploma theses were prepared and successfully defended under the leadership of scientists of NDL SHIK and on the subject of research of NDL at the department of SAIT in 2023

Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences supervise the research works of students and post-graduate students who are involved in the National Academy of Sciences, including for payment Scientific guidance is carried out student scientific circles:

Mokin V.B. leads YouTube channel «AI-ML-DS Training course on Python», where there are already 25 lectures on solving various problems using Python and other artificial intelligence technologies.
