Today, the Department of System Analysis, Computer Monitoring and Engineering Graphics of the Faculty of Computer Systems and Automation of VNTU hosted the second Ideathon “System Analysis of IT Solutions” for 1st-year students in specialties 124 – “System Analysis” and 126 – “Information Systems and Technologies” (specialization “Applied IT”). 5 teams of no more than 4 people participated, who divided the roles of “IT Manager”, “System Architect”, “Programmer” and “Designer” among themselves (some combined them). Each team came up with an interesting IT solution – in the field of public transport, medical care, improvement of the residents of Vinnytsia, the economic sphere and the field of employment. Students analyzed modern analogues, identified their shortcomings, and proposed their own solutions in the field of data processing automation using modern IT and technical means that can complement them. Most teams paid considerable attention to the development of a possible interface for software applications, including mobile ones, the use of GIS technologies (Google Maps), etc. A conceptual UML diagram of use cases and a scheme of interaction between team members with different “roles” were developed. Most teams thought about how to enter the market and where to get funds for this. All team members were co-speakers and actively answered questions. Not everything was perfect in some projects, which influenced their differentiation, although the works that took 1st and 2nd places scored almost the same number of points and the fate was decided only by how the teams answered the questions. In proportion to the place occupied and their role in the project, all participants received a grade in the discipline “Introduction to the profession” for both groups 2IST-17b and SA-17b of the SAKMIG department. The jury members were professor, Dr. of Technical Sciences in specialty 126, head of the project group for the master's degree in this specialty at VNTU Mokin V.B., Ph.D. in specialty 126, associate professor Yascholt A.R. and postgraduate students of the SAKMIG department of the 2nd year of study in specialty 124 Dratovany M.V. and Dovgopolyuk S.O.
In the future, participants will be invited to submit theses to a scientific conference of students and teachers, which the FCSA of VNTU will hold in March 2018. Later, they can refine their projects, taking into account the comments and ideas expressed by the jury members during the discussion of the competition projects, and take part in city, republican and international competitions (ideathons, hackathons, etc.).
