OSCE training at VNTU
Today, the Vinnytsia National Technical University hosted an OSCE training within the framework of the Global Environment Facility project "Promoting Transboundary Cooperation and Integrated Water Resources Management in the Dniester River Basin" on working with a web-based system for constructing and forecasting the water balance of the Dniester River Basin, which was developed in 2015-2017 and improved during 2018-2019 with OSCE funding by the Head of the Department of System Analysis, Computer Monitoring and Engineering Graphics, Professor of VNTU V. Mokin. The training was attended by the OSCE National Project Coordinator Anna Zhovtenko and the OSCE Project Expert Oxana Konovalenko; specialists from the Republic of Moldova (Apele Moldova (analogous to our State Water Agency in Moldova) and the Ministry of Natural Resources of Moldova), a delegation from the Dniester Basin Water Resources Department of the State Water Agency of Ukraine from Ivano-Frankivsk (Deputy Head of the Department Andriy Fenyak, Head of the Department of Water Resources and Water Monitoring Dariya Kuzmin), Professor of the Department of Hydrology and Hydroecology of the Faculty of Geography of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv Vasyl Hrebin from Kyiv, etc. Consultants on various aspects of the application of modern information technologies were also invited from VNTU, Associate Professor Yevhen Kryzhanovsky and Associate Professor Yevhen Palamarchuk from the Faculty of Computer Systems and Automation of VNTU (by the way, today is the Day of the KSA Faculty, which traditionally coincides with Cosmonautics Day).
Discussed the draft regulations developed by V. Mokin and the features of the system's algorithm. Conducted training on working with the web system. During the training, the participants proposed and agreed on a number of new and interesting ideas that will make the created system more effective and useful for a wider range of specialists in the field of water resources management in the Dniester River basin. Defined new terms for the next stage of system improvement.
Then there was an excursion to the Center for Culturology and Student Education of VNTU. The participants really liked the picturesque paintings of the world-famous artist Fedor Konovalyuk, paintings by other masters, sculptures, works on a section of hair, etc.
At the end, we took a group photo in a picturesque place with the VNTU stadium in the background, located near Building 7, where this training was held at the Department of Systems Analysis, Computer Monitoring, and Engineering Graphics.
