On October 2, 2018, Prof. Mokin V.B. held an open lecture for students and postgraduates of specialties 124 and 126, as well as for the department's teachers, on the topic “Ticket to artificial intelligence. Machine learning”. Prof. Mokin V.B. explained the main concepts of machine learning as one of the key sections of artificial intelligence. Models and algorithms. Essence, purpose, scope of application with his own examples. He paid attention to the Kaggle platform, which allows you to quickly test in practice and develop your theoretical knowledge. He told about his own experience of participating in one of its competitions. He explained how this can and should be done in the future. He suggested forming a number of teams to participate in the new competition. He noted the support in this from the Israeli company (with a branch in Vinnytsia) “Nestlogic” (https://www.facebook.com/nestlogic/), which guaranteed a prize fund for the 3 best teams of students from Vinnytsia in each Kaggle competition, in which at least 3-4 teams will participate. The teams will be coached by young but experienced associate professors of our SAKMIG department Andriy Yascholt, Oleksiy Kozachko, Ilona Varchuk (candidates of science in specialty 126 - Information Systems and Technologies), who teach the main special disciplines to students of both 124 and 126 specialties. The general management will be carried out by Prof. Mokin V.B., as well as involving students and postgraduates in solving real scientific and applied problems.
