Material and technical infrastructure
Location of the department
The SAIT department is located in two places of the 5th educational and laboratory building of VNTU:
- department, teaching department, office of the head of the department, specialized office for modern information technologies, 5 educational laboratories and 3 research laboratories - the entire 4th floor of the building;
- scientific research laboratory of ecological research and environmental monitoring (NDL EDEM) (5112) of the department and office premises (5102) - on the 1st floor of the building.
In addition, most of the department's modern computers are located in classes 1, 2 and 4 (5 AMD Ryzen PRO 4650 PCs; 8 IntelCore i3 PCs; 2 HP Compag 8200 Elite PCs) of the computer center of the 7th educational and laboratory building of VNTU (room 7204), where they are regularly updated by the department at the expense of sponsors (mainly at the expense of the company "EPAM"). Licensed software for working with GIS is installed in these classes: Digitals (Ukraine), ArcGIS (USA), etc.
Educational research laboratories of the department
The department has 5 educational laboratories and 1 specialized office:
- Training laboratory for the creation and application of geoinformation software (Epson projector, HP laptop), navigator, GIS of Ukraine).
- Information technology training laboratory for systems analysis (Epson projector, Aser Etensa laptop, HP laptop, environmental measurement devices)
- Artificial Intelligence Training Lab (Samsung Start TV 65”, smart TV, HP laptop)
- Training laboratory of modern programming technologies (6 HP Compag PCs)
- Internet of Things, Robotics and Intelligent Data Analysis Training Laboratory (Epson projector, HP laptop, IoT stand, Sigfox IoT station)
- specialized office with modern IT ((Epson CO-WX-01 projector, HP laptop)
and the premises of the department, on the territory of which 4 are located research laboratories: NDL EDEM (5112), NDL PVSh (5403), NDL SHIK (5405), NDL ASUET (5407). NDL PVSh itself is located in room 5112, together with NDL EDEM, but in 5403 student scientific circles are located under it.
Specialized laboratory equipment
In NDL EDEM is installed (on a bracket on the outer wall of the auditorium, but with power and WiFi connection) faculty the "Air Fresh Max Environment OS" device for measuring the quality of atmospheric air and weather indicators, which every minute sends to the server of the public monitoring network "EcoCity" data from sensors for 12 indicators: the concentration of dust with a size of 1, 2.5 and 10 microns (PM1, PM2.5, PM10), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), ozone (O3), formaldehyde, volatile organic substances, temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure. According to the Memorandum between LLC "Free-Arduino" (network coordinator "EcoCity” in Ukraine) and VNTU, the department of SAIT and the entire internal network faculty of IITA VNTU receives access to data on atmospheric air quality from this station. Also, NDL EDEM (established in 2000) has various equipment for monitoring the state of the environment, there are license cards and programs for working with them, and there is computer equipment.
In addition, there is access to “Office of the Air Quality Researcher of Ukraine", where there is access to 30+ atmospheric air monitoring stations in Vinnytsia and Vinnytsia region (all indicators from 2019, interval 20 min.).
In the educational laboratory of the Internet of Things, robotics and intelligent data analysis, a Sigfox base station has been installed (covering almost the entire territory of VNTU) for creating systems based on the Internet of Things technology and other IoT equipment received free of charge from the UTILIX.UAN Company (city Cherkasy, with an office in Kyiv), which is the Ukrainian operator of the French company "Sigfox", within the scope of the cooperation agreement signed in December 2021.
The classrooms of the department are equipped with multimedia equipment 100%. The educational laboratories are equipped with computer equipment provided by sponsors, mainly the company EPAM.
Computer classes in building 7 with department computers
At the disposal of the SAIT department there are 3 classrooms of the computer center in building 7 of VNTU, the total area (together with the 4th classroom, which is at the disposal of the Faculty of IT of VNTU) is 186.9 square meters. m, which is equipped with modern personal computers - 25 workplaces, and in which the finals of the All-Ukrainian Programming Olympiad were held 9 times in the past, as well as the final rounds of various international and All-Ukrainian Olympiads and competitions. Computers of the SAIT department in this class provided with the following licensed software for working with geoinformation systems: Digitals (Ukraine) – server version for 10 workstations; ArcGIS of various versions (USA, ESRI Corporation): ArcInfo, ArcGlobe and other extensions - 1 workplace; ArcSDE – 5 workplaces; ArcSchematics – 4 workplaces; ArcView, ArcEditor, ArcCatalog, ArcReader - 25 training places; network class of jobs GIS Digitals (Ukraine, "Analytika" LLC) etc. The center has a powerful fiber-optic Internet connection (100 Mbit/s), WiFi. Historically, since 2004, classroom No. 2 has been the most equipped (its constant re-equipment was carried out for more than 20 years by the head of the SAIT Department Mokin V.B.), where the computers of the educational laboratory for geo-information systems and technologies are installed, which is part of theof the laboratory for the creation and application of software and geo-informational support.
In addition, for the educational process, the department uses classrooms for lectures and practical classes, computer classes for general use and other departments of the university.
Scientific and technical cooperation with enterprises and institutions. Branches of the department
Agreements on scientific and technical cooperation were signed (the head of the SAIT department responsible for VNTU Mokin V.B.) between VNTU and the following institutions and enterprises:
- Vinnytsia City Council;
- LLC “INNOVINNPROM”;
- The company "UTILIX.UAN" (Cherkasy, with an office in Kyiv) is the Ukrainian operator of the French company "Sigfox“;
- "Free-Arduino" LLC (Ivano-Frankivsk) - coordinator of the Ukrainian network of public atmospheric air monitoringEcoCity“;
- The State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in Vinnytsia (formerly the Municipal SES of Vinnytsia);
- "Analytika" LLC – branch of the department;
- Basin Management of Water Resources of the South Bug River – branch of the department;
- Vinnytsia Regional Public Organization "Podilskyi Regional Development Agency".
We are also working with companies"INNOVINNPROM", NVP "Common cause", "Promavtomatika“, “EPAM“, “ECOMM” and others, with which there are agreements on cooperation with VNTU, initiated by other departments of the university. Teachers actively cooperate with others, including international IT companies: "Nestlogic” (Israel), “Onseo”, “AIBODY” (Great Britain), “GSL+” and others.
For the training of specialists, the department has modern laboratory and scientific equipment. The equipment of the following institutions and enterprises is used within the scope of educational and industrial practice: "Analytika" LLC, Basin Management of Water Resources of the South Bug River, where the branch of the department is located, the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in Vinnytsia, the State Environmental Inspection in the Vinnytsia Region, the Vinnytsia Regional Center for Hydrometeorology, the State Enterprise "Podilliageodeskartografiya", the Vinnytsia City Council, etc.
Scientific and technical library
The university has its own educational and scientific library with a total area of 2775 square meters. m. The library has been computerized, taking into account all production library cycles - cataloging, stocking, book supply, reader service. The scientific and technical library uses an electronic catalog (EC), which includes 7 databases (DB), namely books, dissertations and abstracts, DSTU, journal articles, subscriptions, state building regulations and authors of VNTU. The created databases work in operational mode: information is entered and readers are served daily. A local computer network with a dedicated server is used for maintenance. A WEB-oriented library search system with a copy of EC was created. The use of WEB technologies ensured a convenient and complete search for information and equal access to NTB databases both from the territory of the library and from outside via the Internet. Such means of access to library databases solve existing problems related to the quality and ergonomics of information search in accordance with the modern level of computer technology.
