Automated control systems in energy and transport

Research laboratory of ASUET

Research laboratory of automated control systems in energy and transport (NDL ASUET) was created in 1990.

Academic supervisor – academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, doctor of technical sciences, professor, IEEE Senior Member Mokin B.I.

Head - candidate of technical sciences, associate professor of the faculty SITE Protsenko D.P.

NDL functions within the limits scientific school of Acad. National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Prof. Mokina B.I. "Mathematical modeling and system analysis of processes in complex systems of a technical, organizational and educational nature and development of information technologies for monitoring and control systems of these processes and automatic and automated control systems".

It is located in auditorium 5407, which is attached to the SAIT department (previously it was in building 4).

NDL ASUET was created in 1990 under the name "NDL of Automated Energy Resource Management Systems (NDL ASUE)" under the leadership of B.I. Mokin. In 2005, NDL ASUE in connection with the expansion of the scope of research into transport systems was transformed NDL ASUET and received the current name "NDL of automated management systems in energy and transport" (NDL ASUET). During 2005-2022, the co-head of the NDL ASUET was also Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, IEEE Member Mokin O.B., who headed the Department of Renewable Energy and Transport Electrical Systems and Complexes at the VNTU at that time.

About 50 scientific and research works were carried out at NDL ASUET, both state-budget and farm-contracting organizations commissioned by organizations, including such as the Kryvorizhstal plant and the Central Enterprise of Electrical Systems PEO "Vinnytsiaenergo".

Active are supported international contacts. NDL ASUET scientists reported "offline" about the results of research and their developments at the IEEE Congress (Pittsburgh, USA), the IMEKO Congress (Turin, Italy; Tampere, Finland; Vienna, Austria; Dubrovnik, Croatia) and at numerous international and domestic scientific conferences and seminars.

There are hundreds of developments by ASUET NDL scientists patents for their inventions and useful models, some of which received about a dozen medals, including gold, at exhibitions of the World Association of Inventors (IFIA) with the center in Geneva, and its scientific supervisor Mokin B.I. awarded the highest IFIA award - the Henry Coand Gold Medal. Active cooperation is underway with a number of foreign and domestic institutions, organizations and enterprises, as well as with a number of universities in Poland and Kazakhstan.

Recently, scientists of the National Research and Development Institute of ASUET have concentrated on researching the potential of renewable (mainly solar and wind) energy in Ukraine and the synthesis of optimal control systems for electric transport, including on orders from enterprises. Technical systems are being modernized using the Internet of Things. Signed memorandum of cooperation with the Ukrainian representative of the French company SigFox, within which a base station and specialized equipment have already been obtained for the deployment of a pilot data monitoring network with a high degree of signal protection and minimal energy consumption. The first devices of this system, created by the head of the NDL ASUET Protsenko D.P., are being tested.

Based on the results of research, several have been prepared dissertations for obtaining the scientific degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences and several dozen dissertations for obtaining the scientific degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences and Doctor of Philosophy in the field of electromechanics, more than 20 articles were published in Scopus/WoS publications, more than 20 monographs.

In particular, within the scope of the research of scientists of the NDL ASUET in 2019-2023 published: 3 monographs, an article in a foreign specialist periodical in Scopus (in the EU), 13 specialist articles in scientific periodicals of Ukraine, 12 theses and presentation materials at scientific conferences, 2 training manuals. Received 6 patents and 2 certificates of copyright registration for developed computer programs (2 more submitted). Under the leadership of Mokin B.I. his graduate student V. V. Horeniuk received a PhD diploma in 2022, and graduate student Kryvonis O.M. – PhD diploma in 2021. In 2022, 4 master's qualification and 1 bachelor's thesis were prepared and successfully defended in the field of research on natural resources at the SAIT department.

Modern directions of scientific research:

      1. Potential research and optimization of systems with renewable energy sources.
      2. Development of systems for optimal management of renewable energy sources.
      3. Creation of automated management systems based on Internet of Things technologies, including of SigFox technologies.
      4. Optimization of energy saving due to system analysis technologies.
      5. Creation of support systems for making optimal decisions by drivers of electric vehicles during movement.

Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences supervise the research works of students and post-graduate students who are involved in the National Academy of Sciences, including for payment Leadership is being implemented scientific student circles:
Technologies for creating IoT systems and robotics (on the basis of NDL ASUET) (scientific co-supervisors: Ph.D., Assoc. Protsenko D.P., and Ph.D., Assoc. Horyachev G.V.);

Creation of information systems and intelligent data analysis (scientific co-supervisors - Ph.D., associate professor O.M. Kozachko and Ph.D., associate professor S.O. Zhukov).
