Enterprises that develop or use various types of software products seek to attract graduates of these educational programs to their activities, including to international and local IT companies, authorities, state, communal and private enterprises that accumulate large volumes of various information and need to quickly make optimal decisions regarding innovative development, promotion of products on the market, their improvement, or computerization of routine operations; banks; news agencies; teams of startups and institutions, etc. Also, our graduates have the necessary skills to create their own IT companies and products, to provide services as independent self-employed contractors (freelancers, independent contractors).
Typical positions graduates in IT companies:
- IT manager (IT Manager: CEO, Engineering Manager, Team/Tech Leader, etc.): oversees the company's technology infrastructure and operations, including the management of hardware, software, networks, security and other key company processes. Team Leader takes charge of the team and ensures that everyone is working efficiently. Managers are also responsible for making technical decisions and selecting and applying technical standards.
- System Architect (System Architect): manages a team and implements the development and implementation of a software architecture that meets the company's business needs, taking into account technical risks, quality control and standards. An architect is responsible for designing the overall structure of a software system, including its components and how they interact with each other. They work closely with other developers and the customer to ensure that the system is scalable, secure and efficient.
- Data Scientist: a programmer responsible for developing and implementing algorithms and models to extract insights from data and solve complex business problems. They specialize in working with large data sets to gain insights and build predictive models. Able to work with a variety of tools and technologies, including machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis software, and big data platforms.
- Software Engineer: A programmer who develops and maintains software applications, including design, coding, testing, and debugging. They may work on individual components of a larger software system or be responsible for the entire program.
- Full Stack Software Engineer – is a generalist programmer who has the ability to create full-fledged web applications from scratch to the end, including their interface, backend, databases and security. They develop full-fledged web applications that work both on the client side and on the server side.
- Web Developer (Web Developer): a programmer who specializes in creating web applications and websites. They can work with advanced technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript, as well as Back-End Technologies: databases and scripting languages for the back-end.
- Mobile Application Developer (Mobile developer): specializes in creating applications for mobile devices, primarily for smartphones and tablets. They can collaborate with programming languages such as Java or Swift, or use cross-platform development tools to create applications.
- Business Intelligence Analyst (Business Intelligence Analyst): a programmer responsible for analyzing and interpreting data to provide insight and drive business decisions.
- Data Analyst (Data Analyst): a programmer who is responsible for collecting, analyzing and interpreting large data sets using known methods and technologies to identify trends and patterns that can become the basis for making business decisions.
- Machine learning engineer (ML Engineer): a programmer responsible for developing and implementing machine learning algorithms and models to solve business problems and extract insights from data.
- Data Engineer (Data Engineer): designs, develops and maintains the infrastructure and tools needed to store and process large volumes of data.
- Quality Assurance Engineer (QA): a quality engineer who is responsible for testing software systems to ensure compliance with required quality standards. They work closely with programmers to identify and fix any software defects.
These are just a few examples of positions that programmers can take in IT companies. There may be others "HR manager", "database developer", "game developer", "designer", "AI/ML engineer", "software tester" etc. Specific roles and responsibilities may vary by company and industry.
Thanks to the successful combination of fundamental knowledge and applied research with the acquisition of useful skills, as well as wide opportunities at the SAIT department to work with real data and tasks within project training, than average programmers and narrow-profile specialists of other educational programs and departments, our graduates have better chances to get a position team leader (Team Leader), project manager (Project Manager), experienced developer (Senior) etc., which allows us to claim that our graduates have the highest salaries in the IT sector. Of course, for this you still need to have significant experience in project implementation, and for international IT companies - fluency in English (or maybe not only English). Also, it is desirable to study fundamental disciplines well, various disciplines of programming and IT project management and gain experience in various contests and hackathons as a team captain.
At the SAIT department, students get ample opportunities to master competencies, learning outcomes, useful knowledge and skills, which, as a rule, ensure good further employment:
- interesting professionally oriented disciplines, the content of which is updated every year;
- experienced teachers, who, as a rule, have practical experience of working in international IT companies in the subjects of their disciplines;
- possibility paid participation in research and scientific-practical projects department of international and/or domestic financing Thanks to the experience gained during participation in such projects, students are able to form a relevant professional resume even before completing the full bachelor's program and fill their own portfolio with their first achievements. For example, some of the 3rd-year students were able to make the following post: "In 2022, he was the executor of a project funded by the EU program "Horizon 2020", where he systematized data from the IoT system of a grain elevator and developed a Python program to improve the artificial intelligence models necessary to optimize energy-saving modes of operation of this elevator";
- an individualized approach to student training and project-based learning - in the 1st year, all students of the SAIT department participate in the Ideathon "System Analysis of IT Solutions", which gives the opportunity to form a team of like-minded people and, if desired, develop their own idea during further studies, which can later grow into a startup, will allow students to acquire useful knowledge and skills in software product development (in most disciplines, points are provided for similar individual tasks);
- from the 1st year, students can take participation in student scientific circles at one of the 4 research laboratories under the guidance of teachers of the department, where you can test the acquired knowledge and skills on real tasks in a team with other students and based on the results of which you can write scientific articles and receive certificates of copyright registration for computer programs, links to which can be included in the resume;
- the possibility of participation in international IT competitions, ideatons, hackathons, including under the guidance of teachers of the department;
- free access to many programs, services and resources, obtained through partnerships and cooperation agreements with VNTU, which allow you to receive a higher quality education and provide an opportunity for self-development, for example, VNTU has benefits in the online course program Coursera, which allows you to master the special sections of individual disciplines for free (as a rule, the programs of the disciplines provide additional points for this or you can re-enroll part of the credits of the discipline based on the results of mastering the online course).
Graduates' rights to employment are not limited.
Also, graduates of this educational program can continue their studies in any specialty of the master's degree in Ukraine. Admission to an accredited course is provided at the SAIT department master's educational program "Information technologies of data and image analysis" specialty 126 Information systems and technologies, after completion of which there is an opportunity to continue studying at a graduate school. The SAIT department is accredited educational and scientific program (ONP) of the PhD level "Systems analysis" specialty 124 System analysis and PhD level ONP "Information systems and technologies" specialty 126 Information systems and technologies. All under the guidance of the scientists of the SAIT department already about 50 theses have been defended "Doctor of Science", "PhD" and "Candidate of Science" levels.
Students are provided with a dormitory.
A developed infrastructure has been created for various leisure activities and activities in sports clubs. For example, among the teachers of the department there is a champion of the Vinnytsia region in badminton and a candidate for master of sports in archery.
