Typical positions graduates in IT companies:
- IT manager (IT Manager: CEO, Engineering Manager, Team/Tech Leader, etc.): oversees the company's technology infrastructure and operations, including the management of hardware, software, networks, security and other key company processes. The Team Leader is responsible for the team and ensures that everyone is working efficiently. Managers are also responsible for making technical decisions and selecting and applying technical standards.
- System Architect (System Architect): manages a team and implements the development and implementation of a software architecture that meets the company's business needs, taking into account technical risks, quality control and standards. An architect is responsible for designing the overall structure of a software system, including its components and how they interact with each other. They work closely with other developers and the customer to ensure that the system is scalable, secure and efficient.
- Data Scientist: a programmer responsible for developing and implementing algorithms and models to extract insights from data and solve complex business problems. They specialize in working with large data sets to gain insights and build predictive models. Able to work with a variety of tools and technologies, including machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis software, and big data platforms
- Machine learning engineer (ML Engineer): a programmer responsible for developing and implementing machine learning algorithms and models to solve business problems and extract insights from data.
- Business Intelligence Analyst, Business Analyst): responsible for analyzing and interpreting data to provide insights and drive business decisions.
- Data Analyst (Data Analyst): responsible for collecting, analyzing and interpreting large data sets using known methods and technologies to identify trends and patterns that can become the basis for making business decisions.
- Data Engineer (Data Engineer): designs, develops and maintains the infrastructure and tools needed to store and process large volumes of data.
- Software Engineer, Web Developer, Mobile Developer): A programmer who develops and maintains software applications, including design, coding, testing, and debugging. They may work on individual components of a larger software system or be responsible for the entire program.
- Quality Assurance Engineer (QA): a quality engineer who is responsible for testing software systems to ensure compliance with required quality standards. They work closely with programmers to identify and fix any software defects.
These are just a few examples of positions that our graduates can take up in IT companies. Others might be "database developer", "game developer", "designer", "AI/ML engineer", "Full Stack Developer", etc. Specific roles and responsibilities may vary by company and industry.
Given a more fundamental training than that of average programmers and narrow-profile specialists in a specific technology or technological stack, graduates of the "Systems Analysis" program have a greater chance of landing a position team leader (Team Leader), project manager (Project Manager) etc., all things being equal, that is why it can be argued that graduates of this specialty F4 are more in demand specialists, and therefore have the highest salaries in the IT sector. Of course, for this you also need to have significant experience in project implementation, and for international IT companies - also fluent English (and maybe not only English).
At the SAIT department, students get ample opportunities to master competencies, learning outcomes, useful knowledge and skills, which, as a rule, ensure good further employment:
- interesting professionally oriented disciplines, the content of which is updated every year;
- experienced teachers, who, as a rule, have practical experience of working in international IT companies in the subjects of their disciplines;
- possibility paid participation in research and scientific-practical projects department of international and/or domestic financing Thanks to the experience gained during participation in such projects, students are able to form a relevant professional resume even before completing the full bachelor's program and fill their own portfolio with their first achievements. For example, some of the 3rd-year students were able to make the following post: "In 2022, he was the executor of a project funded by the EU program "Horizon 2020", where he systematized data from the IoT system of a grain elevator and developed a Python program to improve the artificial intelligence models necessary to optimize energy-saving modes of operation of this elevator";
- an individualized approach to student training and project-based learning - in the 1st year, all students of the SAIT department participate in the Ideathon "System Analysis of IT Solutions", which gives the opportunity to form a team of like-minded people and, if desired, develop their own idea during further studies, which can later grow into a startup, will allow students to acquire useful knowledge and skills in software product development (in most disciplines, points are provided for similar individual tasks);
- from the 1st year, students can take participation in student scientific circles at one of the 4 research laboratories under the guidance of teachers of the department, where you can test the acquired knowledge and skills on real tasks in a team with other students and based on the results of which you can write scientific articles and receive certificates of copyright registration for computer programs, links to which can be included in the resume;
- the possibility of participation in international IT competitions, ideatons, hackathons, including under the guidance of teachers of the department;
- free access to many programs, services and resources, obtained through partnerships and cooperation agreements with VNTU, which allow you to receive a higher quality education and provide an opportunity for self-development, for example, VNTU has benefits in the online course program Coursera, which allows you to master the special sections of individual disciplines for free (as a rule, the programs of the disciplines provide additional points for this or you can re-enroll part of the credits of the discipline based on the results of mastering the online course).
In the state organizations of Ukraine, according to the Classifier of Professions DK 003:2010, graduates can carry out the following professional activities:
- professionals in the field of calculations (computerization);
- professionals in the field of computer systems;
- developers of computing systems;
- professionals in the field of programming;
- developers of computer programs;
- professionals in other fields of computing (computerization);
- professionals in other fields of computing;
- technical specialists in the field of computer technology;
- programmer technicians.
Graduates' rights to employment are not limited.
Also, graduates of this educational program can continue their studies in any master's degree specialty in Ukraine. The SAIT department provides admission to a new master's educational program "Systems Analysis and Artificial Intelligence" specialty F4 Systems Analysis and data science or to an accredited Master's degree program "Information Technologies of Data and Image Analysis" specialty F6 Information Systems and Technologies, after completion of which there is an opportunity to continue postgraduate studies. The SAIT department has an accredited PhD level educational and scientific program (ESP) "Systems Analysis" specialty F4 Systems Analysis and Data Science and PhD level ONP "Information Systems and Technologies" specialty F6 Information Systems and Technologies. All under the guidance of the scientists of the SAIT department already about 50 theses have been defended "Doctor of Science", "PhD" and "Candidate of Science" levels.
Students are provided with a dormitory.
A developed infrastructure has been created for various leisure activities and activities in sports clubs. For example, among the teachers of the department there is a champion of the Vinnytsia region in badminton and a candidate for master of sports in archery.
